Abstract

Background: The incidence of anemia in pregnant women is around 37% and continues to rise. Miscarriage, bleeding during pregnancy, premature delivery, fetal disorders, and birth defects are common problems caused by anemia. Using guava juice, which has been proven to increase hemoglobin levels in pregnant women, is an alternative method that can be used with minimal side effects.  Purpose: To increase knowledge regarding anemia in pregnant women and its prevention by consuming guava juice. Methods: The activity was implemented using an interactive lecture method and a health assessment for pregnant women. The target group was 40 pregnant women within the Darul Imarah Community Health Center's work area. The tools and media used included a pregnancy assessment form, a knowledge questionnaire, and a maternal and child health book. Results: After educational activities were carried out, there was an increase from the majority of respondents having moderate knowledge, namely 60%, to the majority having high knowledge, namely 84%. Conclusion: This activity has a positive impact in the form of increasing knowledge of pregnant women, especially in maintaining Hb levels and being able to use guava juice to increase Hb levels.
