Anthropometric Measurement Education for Health Cadres in Ulee Tuy Village, Darul Imarah Subdistrict, Aceh Besar

Background: Accurate anthropometric measurements are an important component in monitoring the nutritional status of toddlers, especially in efforts to prevent and overcome stunting. However, many health cadres at the village level still do not have adequate skills in conducting anthropometric measurements according to WHO standards. Purpose: to improve the knowledge and skills of health cadres in Ulee Tuy Village, Darul Imarah District, Aceh Besar regarding correct anthropometric measurement techniques, including measuring length/height, weight, and mid-upper arm circumference. Methods: The activity included education, demonstrations, and hands-on practice using standard measuring instruments. Fifteen health cadres enthusiastically participated in the activity. Results: The final activity demonstrated a significant increase in cadre knowledge, with the average pre-test score of 56 increasing to 87 in the post-test. Furthermore, cadre skills in using anthropometric tools improved through practical observations assessed using a standardized checklist. Conclusion: This activity had a positive impact, increasing the accuracy of toddler growth monitoring by cadres in the area. This educational program is expected to serve as a model for strengthening the capacity of integrated health post (Posyandu) cadres in supporting stunting prevention efforts at the community level.
